I found this while metal detecting a few months ago. I was speaking to the owner of a local antique shop a while ago and it came up in conversation. He lit up and exclaimed that it was quite rare. According to him, there are a few other versions of it for other villages/towns but Evergreen happens to be the rarest.
I'm less interested in the scrip now that I know its origins, but I cannot find any information on who exactly G. A. Fitzgerald was (other than the company owner, of course). I'll have to talk about it with him again sometime. There was also another gentleman who had the same variant as I did. From the sounds of it, I could (if I ever decided to sell) get an easy $100 from it, despite its rim's condition.
If you know anything about this mysterious G. A. Fitzgerald, please let me know.
