Hello,
I found this 1965 penny in a roll and it looked off, I was wondering if this was from wear and tear I know its a little dinged up.

Nothing special here - very typical strike for the era.

Stick a fork in the obverse die - it's done.

Thank you all for the help. This may be a stupid question but the way the rim gets thinner and the L in liberty is up against the rim, is that from the Die Deterioration or is it from PMD. Thanks again.

The master dies were getting old in 65. So the working dies were spreading to the rim even before they struck the first planchet. So it was a combination of old master dies and overworked dies. They finally made new masters in 69. Take a look at the difference between 68 and 69 cents. It's like night and day.

You're welcome. I remember when the 69s came out. They were so much better than 68s. Also I found an atheist Greaser in new rolls from the bank, which started me into errors.
