This coin is proving quite a challenge to confirm or refute. Depending on the way that I rotate it relative to the light source, it can look like a normal knob-S mint mark or an inverted mark. Much of the challenge is the heavy Die Deterioration. Also, it's possible that the mint mark took a tap from another coin.

Curious to hear what you guys think on this one.

Actually, now that I am looking at the PCGS images again, the first and third examples also have that triangular notch in the mint mark. Lower right inside of the middle connecting curve. So maybe it's not a hit, that might be physically part of the mint mark punch itself.

I'm seeing some similarities in die flow lines (potential markers) as well.

How well does the MM location match?

Pete, that's one of the challenges on this particular variety. If you check out the PCGS examples (only 4 listed), they do not seem to have the mint mark in the same position. Both Variety Vista and Wexler mention multiple working dies with inverted mint marks.
