I have read that the 1994 P nickel might have a clad planchet. Could this be one of them? Thanks

Well, I found my answer. This is not where I read it, but now I see that the coin should weigh around 2.14 gr and not a whopping 5.0! Thanks for asking about the post. Here is one place: https://coins.ha.com/itm/errors/199...1184-10224.s

You'll need to weigh it then.

Tacc, I did. It is normal, 5.0 gr. I should have looked up the weight of the clad planchet before posting.

Nickels for circulation (& Proofs) (5¢) have never been "clad" - they are an "alloy" of 75% copper and 25% nickel - and all have been 5 grams weight.

EDIT: Having to be specific.

It would seem that the error coin in the link on Heritage was struck on an underweight dime planchet. The TPG may not have wanted to call it a dime planchet because it was underweight, so they just say 'clad',
