I was going through this coin, and noticed some pitting on the bottom of the letters on the reverse. It doesn't seem that any of the. Variety guides had this, so I'm assuming it may be PMD.

What are everyone's thoughts?

The spots pointed out don't appear to be PMD. It appears to be a striking issue from a heavy Die as you can see this issue on other 81-S. Do to this being from a heavy strike, in my opinion, this does not warrant a variety attribution. Still a beautiful coin.

This is common on many Morgan dollars, especially those with high mintages where the dies were used for a long time and they pumped the coins out very quickly.
