You beauty! A new set of (junk) coins to collect. As a collector of circulating $1 coins I will have to get a set to keep my collection complete. No Annaconda stores anywhere near me so I will have to resort to the ebay scalpers. Why does the RAM keep doing this? I will get a set but obviously it won't come from Annaconda - these promotions are so stupid. What else can I do?

The RAM has said they will be avaiable thru the eshop so they must think the sytem won't crash this time round.

Yes, the 17 coin set is available through other outlets, but it looks like the two colored coins are only available through Annaconda tills (and likely via the same old ebay sellers). I want to keep my collection of uncirculated $1 coins complete. I know that getting a coin from the till is technically not uncirculated but it's the next best thing. So the only alternative is to support the ebay scalpers. What else can I do?

Despite being EXCLUSIVE to Annaconda they are already on ebay - same as usual.... At least I can get the coins I need to keep my collection complete but I really do not like supporting the ebay sellers who seem to be circumventing the system. How do those ebay sellers keep getting easy and PRIOR access to these types of coins? What is RAM up to?

Regardless of whether it's Woolworths, Australia Post and now Annaconda, ebay sellers are ALWAYS getting the coins to sell PRIOR to the official release. What is going on?

If people stopped buying from the scalpers on ebay then it will stop. Don't support the scalpers.
Some of the sellers are dealers but it also maybe Armaguard staff as well.

Hello Sally G , you have posted this in the NCLT section.?
Are these coins NCLT ?

Easy... buy the set of $1 coins from RAM.
The mintage is unlimited like the AFL coins .
$2 coins will be easily bought cheap in a few months, no need to rush.

The heading may be a bit misleading as the $1 coins are not exclusively from Anaconda

Thanks Crab Eater, the original email notification I received from RAM said "exclusive " from Anaconda - hence the heading. As usual the coins were already available on ebay prior to the official release so obviously they were not exclusive to Anaconda. Even the RAM are selling them too.
Anyway I contacted Anaconda to see if they would help me get the $2 colored coins as well as a set of the $1. Nup. I can buy the $1 junk coins online but they would not help with $2 coins as part of an online order. Same as Australia Post and Woolworths with previous releases. To get the coins they expect you to shop in the store. Stiff. I crossed to the dark side again and bought the whole lot from ebay scalpers. I hate doing that but what else can I do if I want to keep my sets of uncirculated coins complete? I guess I won't have to worry much longer anyway if we go cashless. At least the release of junk coins through retail outlets would be a thing of the past?

Not sure, may become a novelty collectable for fast food outlets with your purchase. (no Ronald McDonald emoji)

Called into Anaconda today and picked up two of each of the $2 NRL coins. They also had the tubes of $1 NRL coins but they weren't of interest to me as I only collect circulating coins.

Are the $2 coins classed as circulated coins?
As of today , no one on ebay has put up sealed bags of 25 coins of either design for sale.? (saw one ad with a torn edge).
This has astounded me, normally the bags would be hard to miss on ebay.
What is going on?
No pilfering from Anaconda employees?
Limited mintage?
Though no bags of these coins are for sale (yet) on ebay, Imperial Coins has been selling their Cotton and Co brand rolls of Rugby $2 coins.
This release seems to have stopped the usual onselling or scalping that we normally see.

There are a few bags for sale or already sold but it's not clear if they are genuine RAM bags or 'anonymous' bags. Even so not many bags out there.

Even noticed a few Prosegure rolls. Maybe the coins were meant to be delivered by them but...?

One seller of 25 of each design claims to have witnessed the bags being opened at the till. Not necessarily pilfered by staff but certainly not issued in the intended spirit of the release.

Imperial are selling a roll of each design every day on ebay - obviously those coins did not make it to Annaconda. So much for the RAM's claim of "exclusive" from Annaconda.

I wonder how many more companies will bother with these "exclusive" collectable coin releases if so many coins end up being sold on ebay or Imperial instead of passing through the tills?

Just want to add that this release of the $2 coloured rugby coins through Anaconda has seemed to have thwarted the on selling of the mint bags which appear on ebay before every new release.
Congrats to Anaconda .
Can't say the same for Woolies though

In recent years since 2016 there has been far too many $2 coin releases. It has become a joke of a joke.
