Ebay, early 2000's $2.00 Cdn. in an old 2x2. Got several others from 1950 to 52. Could the red hue be from sulphurous residue from the early cellophane production methods like I've mentioned before for some of my 2x2's sealed with cellulose tape back in the 1970's ?

Might be - but I would question whether it matters...that is a thing of beauty. It's the more common of the two varieties: second A in Gratia off/on denticle, with 'on' being the rare one. There are also two minor dings on the reverse rim (3 o'clock and 5 o'clock). But, still a nice piece by any measure.

Too much glare in these pics to grade accurately.
