NumisRob Bedrock of the Community United Kingdom 17905 Posts	Posted 04/03/2024 5:30 pm The edge should be a continuous pattern of fleur-de-lys. When I lived in Spain I saw lots of fakes of these in flea markets. Invariably they looked slightly 'off'. Frequently there was a kind of 'doubling' around the rim, with traces of another rim inside the actual rim (evidence of casting, perhaps). There were often weak points in the lettering or design that looked like unusually uneven wear, and the fleur-de-lys on the edge were remarkably crisp and sharp when compared with the general wear of the coin.
