I would appreciate any inputs on the grade of the 1858 Flying Eagle cent pictured and whether the vertical scratch through the tail would prevent an official grade value. Also, is the green stuff on the reverse removable and if not, how much will it affect the value of the coin? Thanks.

I'd say AU straight grade. Verdi-Care might help with those green spots.

I think it's a nice AU coin that straight grades but I agree also that the reverse needs immediate treatment with Verdi-Care or a similar conserving agent.

Looks like some die clashing on the obverse below states and to the left of America, if my eyes don't deceive me.

Scratches not really significant enough to detract from the grade, consistent with EF-45.
