Very very little Barber coinage in Rome... Over 4.4 million minted this year, but how many have be brutally scratched? A shame because I kind of like the wear on the reverse.

even though they may be difficult to find there this one is over the line and would not even receive a grade due to the extensive damage. the coins value is the silver content. I do agree the reverse is a nice circulated example.

@pan, by now I'm well aware of that. I hope you would have more faith in me & I paid below melt; much like the collection I posted last week. I'm comfortable paying a few euro for a barber coin to add to my meager tube of barber and SLQs.

Quote: I hope you would have more faith in me & I paid below melt i wasnt judging you for purchasing the coin I was just assessing what I see. when you post a coin like this I'm not sure what you are asking us to comment on? going forward please include what you asking CCF for regarding the coin. for the most part, when someone posts a coin here, its to receive an assessment of the coin itself. I'm totally with you in your endeavor and the challenges you face

@pan, I appreciate that. I don't know if I'm asking anything really. I just kind of like sharing the experience of what's found in Rome with people that are significantly (significantly!) more interested than my wife.
I've enjoyed the hunt for american coins a lot in Rome. It gives me something to do and I've learned a lot about American coins; found some better stuff and plan to repatriate a lot of it this summer like I did last summer. It's just an angle of the hobby I suppose.

Also, I can relate to you comment regarding your wife

@pan, you've never offended me. I think once I did not understand something you said, but you clarified and I took no offense. You've been wonderfully helpful and I appreciate your responses to my posts.
