Digging to make my brotherīs house I found a few coins and an old gun and bullets. A couple of them coins are from 1875 and easily identifiable although in a bit of a bad state, if someone knows a tip to clean them I'll appreciate it. But there was a coin which we have no clue about what or where is it from. I'll post a picture, hopefully someone has seen one similar before.

It looks like some type of token. Without some writting or value designation on it it would not be a coin

Agree a token of some kind. If it's been dug up out of the ground and looks black like this, then it's probably made of brass. If it was found with coins from the late 1800s, then it too probably dates from the late 1800s.

With no indication of manufacturer or issuer, tracking down any information about it is going to be tricky. Such tokens are poorly studied and their cataloguing is very patchy. I suspect it may have been used in a game of chance, either sold with a deck of cards or used in very early gambling machines known as trade stimulators.

Thank you, I think that might be the best explanation, but as you said, as it does not have any letters or words, it'll be hard to find anything

Neat find! I think it could be of German make and fall into the c. mid-late 1800s Spiel Marke / gaming tokens category. I did a quick search on Worthpoint and found other uses of the grapes die, including one matched with a Spiel Marke legend. I added your token to these composites as I was in the process of gathering images. I found a similar tree matched with a sun face - and you will see the sun face was also matched with the grapes. This shows that that all these tokens were probably made in the same shop. Probabably Nuremberg --?
