Khromtau Pillar of the Community United States 676 Posts	Posted 04/08/2024 10:47 pm Got this last Saturday at a coin show, and I was wondering how common these are? I looked on ebay and found a small handful but not many, and I have never seen one before this one. Also, what is a good average price for these? I paid $160 which didn't seem too bad to me but I am not entirely sure what a decent price is. Thanks! Report this Post to the Staff

I used it as a hole-filler until I eventually acquired a 1799. Thereafter, a dealer gave me $100 for it; this, some twenty years ago. Like the coin, my mind's a blank as to when and where I acquired my specimen. While I've since seen many a 1799 large cent at shows, this thread is the first time I've seen one of these blanks since I parted with mine .... cool acquisitions, these. Reading between the lines I wrote, a lesser point was that these blanks are, akin to 1799 large cents, genuinely rare items.
