Members I was looking through some of my older pennies yesterday and I ran across this strange 1945 D penny take a look at liberty the E appears to be a sideway M the markings are to sharp and the angels are perfect for a M and not a E So I believe that it was stamped this way back in 1945 from the mint. And not a error from being banged around for 79 years need your input and please study the photos as I have. I also added a photo that shoes a penny with a regular E

Yes, yes. Please post full, large and sharp images of the obverse and reverse. Doing so allows us to better understand the full coin and what all may be happening. Thanks.

to the CCF diamonds, This is as others have said circulation flattening. The only thing Stamped on a coin is the mint mark, up until about 1990. Everything else is machined into dies that make working dies that make the coin. If it was a M turned 90%, there would be thousands of them made, they would all be the same not just one. Stick around, learn how coins are made, then you will know what an error or variety is.
