Hello everyone! New to the forum, but have a question as to a $5.00 federal note I have. I have a 1963 Federal Note that does not have a serial number.

Can anyone provide me with information regarding this bill?

Thank you!

It is one of two things- either it is an error or someone has removed it with chemicals.

Can you see any difference in the coloring?

No difference in the coloring, but the seal looks to be yellow, not blue, green, or red as normally seen.

And there is your answer. If you look closely, you can see very faint yellow areas where the s/n would be. I distinctly see an "A" on the upper right where the s/n should start.

Additionally, the areas where the s/n were shows a bit of wrinkling where the wet chemicals were applied to the note.

I enlarged the bill and can see parts of a serial number in both corners. Thanks for satisfying my curiosity! Really appreciate the help!

This is a false error - reaction to chemicals.
