G'day, insomniac ?
Just picked up my kids from school, and the sun is shining brightly ...
but I digress.
I'd be wondering if the one with the fleur-de-lis might be French, from either the Royal (pre-1792) or Feudal (very early) periods.
Back then, there was a large silver coin, the Ecu; and there were fractionals too.
There were small coins too: liard was one.
These coins looked hammered, rather than milled, which tends to direct your attention to earlier, rather than later.
Good buying, in any event.

G'day Peter , 1:35am here on the east coast of the US of A ,good to hear the suns shining,we had a couple real nice days lately.
On the coin objects ,
I can see emblems on the one that look french , I'm not so sure of the spelling but the fluer de ..is there.
On the other I can deffo see rex spelled out,its in much worse condition by the looks of it.
When they arrive this week ill get better pics if they seem worthwhile,im with you thinking they could be hammered :)

And right now... 10:45PM on the west coast, I'm still packing my books for school tomorrow.

Why does the left coin have a sand/boil texture? I thought hammered coins were supposed to have very very smooth fields.

The one on the left is a Nuremberg jeton, much like the "rose / orb" type on this page. If it were in better condition, you'd be able to see the token-maker's name.

The one on the right looks kind of like a liard or similar French coin; I'd need to see a clearer pic.

That is amazing Sap , you nailed it.I think it is the rose/orb version on the page you supplied , thank you.Further down the page there is one called the English version and it sure looks like the 2nd one.
I will add better pics when I get them to finalize , I think you got them exactly right though Sap,thank you.

Wow..coins arrived today , I reckon the seller sent them immediately , I only bought them a few days ago , pretty quick coming from England.Ill get better pics today but I think Sap got them right first time.
