Hi everybody , what I need is somebody else who purchased the 2009 Red Book to have a look at the back pages for me. There is a detachable page with the State Quarter folder offer. What I need to know is what does the offer actually offer? I understood that I complete the form and id get a free State Quarter folder.Am I incorrect on that? Ill explain why.I sent mine in last december thinking id get a State Quarter folder,i already completed one in clad and one in silver unc for my nephews and nieces and thought with a free folder id put another together. I didnt actually get anything until I asked what the hold up is , id waited 4 months and the offer is 6 weeks shipping. This morning I got a State Quarter folder for 2006 to 2008 which is absolutely useless unless I purchase the other folders in the set. I could not be more disappointed in Whitmans for this as if I had known I would have saved myself the stamp. Can anyone please have a look for me and tell me what the offer was for exactly please ?

Hi there, I sent mine coupon off to my mom since she lives in the US but I did scan the coupon before posting it off to here. I hope this helps. I do not recall if she did send away for it but I do know she was trying to a set of the coins for my nephew. Ken

Hi Ken , you know I was just thinking I wish id scanned the coupen ..lol..thank you very much. The book in the coupen looks like the one I got , problem is the wording , it doesn't mention there is only room for 2006-2008 coins. That leaves a heck of a lot of others and apparantly I'm expected to purchase the remaining folders..i wont be purchasing any folders from whitmans after this.Theres plenty other manufacturers with far more attractive folders. Im in no way saying I got ripped off , just slightly misled.Sure I should have paid more attention to detail but by the same token(pun unintended) so should have whitmans. The offer does say State Quarter and no mention of 2006 -2008 only. Thanks again Ken , if I can help get you your set of quarters please feel free to PM and I can definatley help out.I got hundreds of the things laying around and no folder to put them in :)

I agree that the offer is not that clear on what album will hold.
I have been just trying to get one from each state rather than both mintmarks.

I feel kind of silly now as now I can clearly see there is not room for 50 coins never mind the new issues for districts. Its a good lesson for me to pay attention as when I seen the coupen all I seen was a free State Quarters folder. Thats how it starts Ken , just one of each year , same with me,i wasnt worried about mintmarks. Then I done a S mint silver set , they are addictive as its hard to spend one that is mirror like.I put them aside and really do have hundreds , I cant keep them all but was waiting for a folder before going through them. Im from the UK myself as you may have guessed from my handle, I send letters and cards and parcels regular to all my family regularly Ken , its seriously not a problem to send the needed quarters as and when I get the ones you need , some are more difficult than others to get but what I do is get as close to the 50 as I can , my first set I had 48 out of 50 and I bought the last 2 I needed off ebay.

Duke , I can give you the CR email address if you like.I contacted CS and got a reply pretty quick. Were you aware the offer is only one of a number of folders you would actually need?

Yeah I see that now, I don't mind, getting "free" stuff is cool. I will wait a week or two and then let you know if I need the email.
thanks

As a footnote I have a coupen here for the 2008 Red Book and 2 State Quarters folders. You get those plus a new era in coin collecting book. You send in $5 with the coupen and you get those books. If anybody wants the coupen pm a mailing addy and ill send it.It has not expired I was only given it this week from Whitmans. I already have the 2009 RedBook so dont need the coupen.

In recent Red Books there have been similar free offers. One year there was three different such offers. They were placed in the books at random. Most people got those types of folders. I know another one was for a pretty expensive book. Don't remember what the other one was for. Now here is some not to nice information. Look at the rear of those slots for coins. If it is shinning, that is glue from the manufacturing process. Next think of how you put those coins into those slots. Normally people just press them in with their thumbs and some even use a rubber hammer. All that is not really great for most coins.

Just found that coupon in the 2008 and 2009 Red Book. I think there was one in the 2007 but not sure. In the 2008 it read free Presidential folder and in the 2009 it was for the free Statehood Quarters. In either case they are for 3 pages of coins only. Others would have to be purchased for a complete set.
