DVCollector Bedrock of the Community United States 10045 Posts	Posted 04/21/2009 10:53 am If the photo is accurate on color, it may just be environmental exposure at some point. The missing letters could be a filled die. As for grade, I suspect the coloration is hiding some details, but look at the eagle's breast and there's detail left of that wing tip, which is a high point of the design. A weak tail strike is common, so I'll say VF35-EF40. Report this Post to the Staff

Having said that, this coin would be a text book VF35. Just slightly too much wear to command an XF40.
