According to USmint webpage, 2009 Native American Denver mintage is extremely low, only 0.7M, while Philadelphia mintage is 7.28M (10X more than Denver).
Is it true or just typo?
If it is true, Denver coin should be already sold out in USmint, right?
Pls let me know if anyone has real story. thanks.

There was a thread about this a while ago... and I do remember that the D mintage were extremely low. However, we don't know if there's going to be more produced later in the year...

Read this thread.

The 700k figure quoted is for calendar year 2009 mintage.

I estimate that 11.5 million 2009-D Native American dollars
were minted in December 2008. The 2008 calendar year figure
for Golden (Sacagawea) Dollars reflects this, even though
the 2008-dated coins are "NIFC". The previous years' "NIFC"
Sacagaweas were minted in steady quantities around 3.5 million
per annum, and the 2008-dated coins should be around this figure.

There was also a large increase in the Philadelphia Mint calendar
year 2008 figure, suggesting that about 5.5 million 2009-P Native
American Dollars were minted during December 2008.

Both Mint's (P & D) gift shops had the business strike 2009 N.A.
Dollars available on the first week of January 2009. I bought them
from the Denver Mint that week ( and I spent 98 of them! )

And, of course, the mintage figures for the 2009's will not be
complete until 2010.

Quote:
DNA: "As of Mar. 26th, 28,226 of the 2009-D Native American dollar 25-coin Mint Rolls have been reported sold, so that's 705,650 individual coins sold so far right there, and that's counting only the coins in premium-priced Mint Rolls!"

If I'd spent 98 coins of which only 700k were minted, I'd be kicking
myself... Then again, the Mint appears to be the only source
where we can obtain the 2009 N.A. Dollars right now, even though
they're a 'circulation issue'. My 98 coins will be 'real finds'!

Expect a mintage to be struck late in the year. Remember that by law they HAVE to make enough of them to equal 1/5th of the total mintage of golden dollars for the year. Since they have no knowledge of what the mintage of the last two presient dollars will be at this time, they don't know what the final mintage of the Native Americans will have to be.

Even if no more are produced for general circulation this figure will easily triple when production for mint sets and annual dollar sets are taken into account so I dont think this will be a key date year or at least not in the traditional sense.

Of all the Mintage numbers that are going to be "cut" i.e. (dimes & nickels).....isn't it strange that they STILL INTEND TO MINT MILLIONS AND BILLIONS OF THE DOLLAR COINS ? ... (Presidential and Native)
For a coin that is overwhelmingly NOT LIKED BY THE AMERICAN PUBLIC FOR DAILY USE.......AND IS NOT CIRCULATED ANY BETTER THAN THE SUZY B'S WERE OR THE ORIGINAL Sacagawea COIN.......JUST A LITTLE ODD DON'T YA THINK ?
This, to me, just adds more weight to the theory that they are "stocking the banks and Fed. Resv." so that when they eliminate the $1.00 FRN America will have PLENTY of these in stock.
But the Billion dollar question still remains..........
WHEN WILL THIS HAPPEN ?
