A while back I found an Indochina Piastre on Tony Fein's Vcoins page. It looked like a potentially good deal, but there appeared to be some spots of corrosion on the coin. Since the pictures weren't very good, I emailed him to ask about the spots and request a better picture. He replied with 6 words:

What do you expect for $35?

I thought it was a bit rude. Since then I have seen other coins that I wanted to purchase from him on ebay and Vcoins. I didn't pull the trigger though due to my previous interaction with him. Has anyone on the forum had better results doing business with Tony Fein?

"What I expect is an actual answer to my question, not your non-sequitur. Either provide better pics, or don't. Your call. Just don't give me that BS 'answer'"

Yeah, that is pretty ridiculous. If I was selling a $5 coin and someone wanted better pics, I would provide them. Of course, I would also probably make sure my pics were up to snuff in the first place so the customer didn't even have to ask for better pics. I do not claim to be a professional photog or anything like that, I am still learning numismatic photography but I also do not run a professional website selling coins(I just sell a bit on the side).

I bought from him a reeded half edge that looked problem free and on the phone he confirmed that but I received a cleaned coin. Returned it and he credited. Never bought from him since then.

With an answer like that I would respond and let him know that he lost a possible customer and certainly any possible future dealings! I would also ask him how he expects to get repeat customers with an attitude like That!
