Hello,

I am new to collecting world coins, so please bear with me if this is a dumb question. I have a coin that looks Arabic and has a zombie-looking guy on the front and a mosque on the back. I found a picture of the coin in an auction on ebay - it is the coin at the bottom left of this photo:

If anyone can help me identify this coin, I would really appreciate it. I'm sure it is not worth anything, but I would like to know what country it is from. Thank you.

! The Lira and Kurus (Cresent with a star) coins are all from Turkey. The ones with Liras are the old ones, which are now worth 1/1,000,000 new Lira. I see that your 5 Kurus is new, so that would be a currently circulating coin.

... and other people can id the others. I just don't recognize them that quickly... except the Bahrain one, and the one on the bottom left which could be Jordan...

Don't say that to a Pakistani!

The coin in question is a 1 rupee from Pakistan. The portrait is of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, statesman and founding father of the country - Pakistan's equivalent of Thomas Jefferson. As for value, it's a currently circulating coin. One Pakistan rupee is worth slightly more than 1 US cent, so there's not much face value; it's a typical "3 for $1" coin you'd find in a coin dealer's scratchtray.
