Agreed that "eventually" they'll make their way into circulation. (not so much maybe with the first design "P" mint, being such a low mintage in comparison to the "D" mint. If you had a $25.00 box of
those P's,....
I'D BE MUCH MORE EXCITED !)(But having a whole box of either one is something to be pleased with since they are so hard to come by right now.)
But the key thing to remember is that "
circulated" 2009 P & D mints is what
*may* be worth only one cent in the future. And this "IS" a historic change in the
Lincoln Cent, and so they'll be some level of collectiblity with
this years newly designed Cent compared to years of Memorials and many years before that with the
Wheat cent.
It's always going to be hard, however, to get "
both" mints in Uncirculated condition, espicially if your only "collector avenue" for these is "pocket change".
This is why the "2009 Lincoln Two Roll Sets" are so popular for so many people....it's not
just the arguable point about "the Mint wrapper", but it's also HAVING
BOTH MINTS IN UNCIRC. CONDITION. These will be
more valuable than their eventual "circulated brethren" obviously. As to what level of value that will be once all four designs are out, and "post-bubble pop" values after interest may have waned in these......is just purely guesses, theories, and conjecture.
Lastly.......if you have no interest in these two boxes you bought or "modern stuff".......then I'd say you ought to sell them to someone who
is....
make a nice profit for yourself to buy more "Classic" coins !.....
