The mailman delivered my 2006 proof set today, and I got my first look at all the 2006 Statehood Quarters.

I agree with what Terry posted sometime back, and that is the 2006 quarters are probably the best of the series to date.

I was impressed with all five, even the one depicting my home state of Colorado, though I believe it could have been better.

I would certainly urge collectors to buy this year's proof set. The coins, in my opinion, are beautiful.

Terry, I understand why you like ND, but since you raise birds, I bet you like SD as well.

You mentioned the ASE going up in vaklue. Were you referring to proofs?

I only have one so far, would you suggest I buy more?

Also, any movement in the Canadian specimen set that we recently purchased?

Gary I don't buy proof silver eagles any longer. I am talking uncirculated eagles!!! The 2006 has reached $13.50 already. Other older eagles are making huge strides forward so I would hate to try and build a full set now! Better buy those eagles NOW!

While I really like all of the 2006 quarters I must admit Nebraska may be my new favorite as it has a very historical design and thats what I thought the WHOLE program was all about! Pioneers in their covered wagon headed west! That pretty much says it all!

Terry, I remember about three summers ago when the Bride and I were headed for yellowstone, but decided to take a right turn and see Chimney Rock and Scott's Bluff.

Chimney Rock was fantastic, especially when you consider what the pioneers of the 1800's must have thought when they first saw it off in the distance. I recall that the rock came into view from so many miles away, and when you got there, the only signs of life we saw was the highway, and a lone farmhouse.

Anyway, I agree that the Nebraska State Quarter is a good one. I really like all five for this year.

Hopefully, as the series concludes, there will be many more attractive ones.
