Well my camera doesn't take closeups too good but here is a pic of what I believe is a double die 1923 1 franc.....what do you all think?

Definitely seems to be something weird going on here, that's for sure, even if the photos are tough to read.

I can tell you this much: the 1 and 2 franc coins in this series are notorious for having numerous die-related problems.
The "Franc VIII" claims that errors of all kinds abound for these types and that poor and damaged dies were to blame. On some,
the signature disappears ("Domard Inv"), on others, letters are gone and some are missing the inside circle on the reverse! Yours may be
a double-die, but it looks to me to at least show serious die breaks (the base of the 1, for instance).

All that adds up to one thing: a really fun realm of possibilities for collectors attentive to this type! Great find you've got!

I have a 2 francs where the "INV" is almost gone while "DOMARD" is very sharp and noticeable, "BR" almost invisible while ".AL." completely readable. Definitely not due to wear.
