This came with a recent purchase, I know very little about these colonial era coins.
Was wondering if this would possibly be genuine. The reverse is fairly soft compared to the obverse. Lots of flaws. I don't have my calipers handy but weight is 7.34 grams.

Is it oriented medal turn or coin turn?

not in my wheelhouse but if it is authentic I would be inclined to verdicare it to slow down or mitigate the verdigris. the toning , wear and overall look of the coin looks legit but counterfeits can deceive the best of the best. keep in mind that these were struck by hand on less than acceptable copper

Not sure, but if it is fake they did a great job making it look like it was in the ground for over 200 years.

The die pair is RR-8 and matches all diagnostics as such

This pair was originally listed as being R4 but is now more commonly thought to be R3

It looks pretty rough but could be genuine.

Much like the other VT copper you posted, it can be difficult to tell counterfeits from actual coins.
