Somewhat minor compared to the rest of the DDO's for 2012, but yes, that is a doubled die obverse. 2012 was chucked full of doubled die varieties for the Loon Dollar, Grey Cup, and Lucky Loonie.

I can see why you would think MD, the devices on the loon dollars are really flat, so when a doubled die is present it can sometimes be difficult to differentiate between a doubled die, and Machine Doubling. Quickest way to tell is to look for notching, which is present on more than one letter.
