Hello to all!

I have had coin collecting as a hobby for 4-5 months now. I have been into Lincoln Cents. I know nada about nickels. Found this at my mom's in an old piece of pottery. Pretty need looking coin though. Maybe I'll broaden my horizons into the nickel world soon. Curious about date. I know there are markers on a lot of the memorial series. Didn't know about nickels.. thanks for always being so helpful on the forum y'all :)

There are products like "nic-a-date" that will likely restore a faint image of the date, but in all likelihood you'll still just have a junker coin.

Welcome and good luck. I have been spending these in an effort to encourage new collectors. Maybe you got one of them :)

with the angle of the coin in the image and no close up, it is VERY difficult for us to see any details.
