I Too have Seen and Collected some Coins with Odd Counter-Stamps, Trade dollars.

Seems Many Were Marked and while I feel it is Destroying the Coins " value " There is Something Special when done with Style, Care......

Not like an 8 Reale, where bits were chopped off, Just a Sweet Counter Mark/Stamp.......

The chopmarks are different, its a part of history like clipped coins. I agree some of them are beatyful. The y2k stamp destroyed that aes for me
