Hi All,

Anacs came back at F15 details on my IH. Last time here everyone thought it was higher than that and I agree. I am picking it up at the Palm Beach Coin Show on Sunday and they told me if I want them to take another look, I can leave it at the show and get it next month, no charge. What does everyone think? Should I?

I'd certainly ask for a regrade, especially if there's no charge. That's strong VF sharpness to my eye.

Looks strong VF (like VF30) details to me.

That said, I have found some absolute steals in ANACS holders. The best one that comes to mind is an 1888 Indian cent in ANACS MS61RB went MS65RB at PCGS. I think ANACS is tougher than the others!

By the way, this is the better of the two die pairs in my opinion. AMERICA is always much stronger with this obverse die.

It should be in a details holder. Should never have been straight graded for the corrosion. Sounds like they knocked it down at least 10 points for all the problems.

The coin was returned by ANACS in a Details holder according to the OP.

at best VF details (Corroded). on top of that the coin was probably cleaned at some point and there's are scratch on the jaw. I think BH1964 called it that they knocked it from VF to F due to all the issues.

not sure what you mean that they would take a look at it at the show. do you mean ANACS? if so, wouldnt hurt but I would never buy a corroded coin, especially a key unless you are just using it as a filler until a better example comes by. i'd rather have a lower grade straight coin
