I received two crisp Uncirculated conditioned $5.00 Notes from an ATM over the weekend. Every number and letter is a perfect match except of course the very last number. They are 2006 issue.

Then both have J10

Of course I have to keep them.....I wish they were "Star Notes"...or old "Silver Certificates" or something, but I'm just not that lucky. For me, this is one of the best "finds" I've ever had !
Even though the "value" I assume is nearly zero beyond face.

What kind of value can I expect here ? (basically just face value ?)

Even though they're not 2009 issues.....should I try to get a couple Abraham Lincoln stamps and have the post office stamp them ?.....or would that be useless and add no value whatsoever ?

Any thoughts on these before I tuck them away at the S.D.B in my currency albums along with all my other Notes would be appreciated.

The 2006 series(purple design) is the newest series, there are no 2009s as the BEP does not issue a new series every year. You should be able to get a whole strap of these if you wanted so they definitely have no premium value right now and probably will not any time soon.

Yup, these are only face right now... unless you can find a way to export them and then sell them elsewhere for a premium.

Anyways, getting the Lincoln stamp would be (IMHO) pretty worthless right now since there's no good date to stamp them on. Lincoln's birthday already passed...

They sound like nice notes and are worth $5 each.
Honestly, if you go to your bank and ask them if they have any "fresh packs" of currency they often will. Keep a few and spend the rest as this can very expensive very quickly.
Much like coins new notes do NOT appreciate in value quickly as a rule. Of course there are exceptions when one happens upon a block or star note run of low printing.

As for putting stamps on them PLEASE DON'T. It's like scratching your initials on a nice new Silver Eagle (to me at least).
This was done a lot in 1976 with the $2 notes. Everyone thought it was so clever. We have so many of those sitting around the shop that whenever I see one walk in with a collection I tell the boss NOT to buy it even if it's Crisp Uncirculated. The note is worth more without the stamp.
