Greatly worn down, but a coin I've tried to identify numerous times. Mostly just curious, as I know it has little value.

- this key shape pretty much only occurs on Bremen coins, most of them have differently shaped shields, and conveniently FRA is visible on the other side so it has to be a Francis type and not a Carl type.

The date (would have been at 11h in the last pic, near the upper left corner of the shield) might be visible in hand; on the photo I can't see anything but also can't confirm whether there is anything to see.

If the size of your coin matches the Numista listing, I think you have your answer.

Sometimes despite a lot of wear, there are some characteristic features (that key, and the crowned two-headed eagle) that allow an unambiguous ID.
Kudos to erafjel for the quick ID!

The size and type is a match. Incredible. We have some great coin sleuths here. Because of the 'FRAN' I automatically assume France. It may carry little value, but I do love identifying and keeping old coins. Great detective work. Thank you.

You're welcome, Paul St Louis. I too enjoy id'ing old coins.
