Picked this up last week online somewhere for a price I won't divulge yet, as I want this to be on a future guess-the-price round

This was the last date I needed to complete the 1839-1857 large cents but I was looking everywhere for the scarce 1857 till now. I have a tentative personal grade of AU-55 details cleaned (mostly on the obverse) but at least it has no other damage seen except for minor nicks on the obverse. To say I was overall happy would be an understatement

Unfortunately, I ll have to go with low AU details and badly cleaned.
Judging from the pictures, It is not an appealing coin. Maybe some prolonged windowsill would help.

Completing a set and with in your means and you like it gets a thumbs up from me. Agree with Germanics, some window sill time might do some good.

Well if the price was right and just a hole filler then it fits the bill.

Congrats on your
Maybe try the windowsill toning method. I recently read a post about that, and the coin turned out looking much better.Maybe a member can post a link to that thread.

have to agree with everyone above. AU details (cleaned) also looks like a rim hit under the date

congrats on finishing your braided hair series. it's always satisfying locking down a series
