I bought this coin on whatnot last year, and I can't seem to find any info on numista when I put the specs in the search there.
Diameter: ~29mm,
Weight: ~8.55g,
Thickness: ~2mm
Composition: Probably copper based on color,
Edge actually has a few reeds...

I looked on the exonumia section, and again came up with nothing

Obverse has four Asian characters with four large dots in between the four characters. The reverse is uniface...

@mrw, could it be a charm rather than a coin?

Thanks Spence
I could see this being a charm from Asia. This is for sure a Whatisit, hence my username here

The small discussion on numista had one referee or moderator move what I uploaded as a coin over to the exonumia catalog. The reason for Tdzemia is he is a moderator over there and one of our members here.

It's definitely not a coin; though the style of script is that used on 2000 year old cash coins, genuine coins don't have the dots in the corners. And cash coins never have "reeded edges", even if hand-carved.It's presumably a charm of some kind, though I haven't found a similar item on zeno.ru.

The presence of reeding dates this piece to after the introduction of Western-style milled coinage to China in the late 1800s.

...but sadly, I have no experience in East Asia . My roles there are referee in early Low Countries coinage, and "Admin" which are folks who add/modify stuff in the underlying database.
It sounds like both fora are calling this one exonumia, so hopefully that sets you on the rigth path.

I posted it on Facebook and David Hartill calls it a modern replica. Others call it fake.

Hi. This looks like the Da Chao Jin He coin from the Northern Song period.
