I was at my bank today and my teller mentioned that she clicked the wrong button when she order $20 bundles for the bank and received uncirculated bundles instead. I mentioned that if she ever got any that I would take them, so she saved them for me and I took all 6 bundles. I found two and three digit radar notes!!

Quote: I found two and three digit radar notes!! Very nice sequential radars @Enyaw! The 2 digits with such nice symmetry are really sweet to own! Quote: What are radars like these worth on resale? This is strictly a guess @coinfrog, but I would expect the $20 2 digit radar to sell for around $90 - $110 CDN (depending on condition* or in a TPG holder) & the 3 digit to sell for about half that. Quote: I have to come visit you, what city are you in? I'm sure @Enyaw would love the competition! but I don't think its about the city but more about the staff at his branch. The staff at my branch just don't want to "play ball" when it comes to ordering bricks (or stacks/bundles) so I have thrown in the towel (searching). *There's a lot of new collectors who want these but they cannot have any scratches on the holographic see-through window - which is very tough to find (most UNC $20 I find have scratches). TPG notes would go a little higher still (I would expect). However, having said all that, things seem to be pretty slow here when it comes to banknote sales

For some reason I have had great luck with the different bank tellers I have had over the years. Back when the Journey series came out I ordered a couple bundles from a branch near where I was working at the time. When I picked them up I struck up a conversation with the teller and mentioned that I collect banknotes. She asked what I was looking for and I mentioned radar notes etc. I gave her my number and she said she would keep an eye out (I wasn't holding my breath, haha). She called me a few months later and said she had a couple radar notes for me!! Over the next number of months she had saved a total of 11 radars, from bundles, for me and called with a few 1979's, 1954's etc., unfortunately she changed careers and that banknote honey hole dried up.

I decided to get some notes certified, for the first time, and was very pleased with the results for this one.

Enyaw, can you provide information on how your first certification went? I've never sent anything into a grader.

My first certification process was great. I used the BCS express service (5-10 business days) and got 15 notes certified for $20 each plus tax. I emailed ahead and setup a day and time for drop-off and pick-up. They had everything completed on time, which was important (because of flights) as we combined it with a vacation to the area, for the first time too. I submitted a variety of notes with different potential grades from 1937 to 2012 to dip my toe in and get a feel of the process. The range came back VF25 to GUNC65 with 13 of the 15 labeled "original" which was in line with my expectations. Here is a link to their website if you decide to submit some notes https://www.banknotecertification.com/index.php

Quote:Fantastic! +1 Quote: Enyaw, can you provide information on how your first certification went? I've never sent anything into a grader. Quote: My first certification process was great. That's great to hear! My four separate submissions (two 50 note bulk lots & two partial small submissions) went very smoothly too. One submission I sent in, the other three, I delivered personally to BCS. You must make arrangements (of course) if you plan to deliver your notes for him to grade. Some I picked up (some he sent) but always great communication (all good). I got a phone call from him before my notes were delivered once too. Steve was very professional, organized & helpful each time. I felt like I learned something about a specific series if I asked for his insight so he's also very knowledgeable. I have recommended his service for about a decade now. I have always felt like it may be helpful to share one's grading results (experiences) with fellow collectors so I made this TPG Results page: https://sites.google.com/view/notap.../tpg-results(Some of my TPG results were from PMG while the last, most recent, were from BCS).
