Could I get grade/value opinions on this 1954 modified Beattie-Coyne five dollar changeover note (976,000 printed).
Thank you!

Hard to grade using just pictures but IMO this would grade a VF to VF+. If that's the case, Charlton puts VF at $175 and VF+ would be around $250. I am not an expert though.

Nice note!

That's a super scarce design change-over from the DF series of prefixes seldom seen Enyaw. I think I have seen about 3 or 4 including that one (all in Fine to VF possibly EF condition).

That one appears VF25 but non EPQ due to the mark on the back T-R border near the 5 marker. Value is hard to say b/c Charlton doesn't give them credit for their scarcity & tends to follow world trends (& most World/US collectors prefer DF over Modified) IMO. Perhaps $200 to the right buyer.

Thanks for your comments, everyone, I guess I did okay then!!
This is the first note I have purchased over face value in a very long time. I noticed this raw note in a small online auction last week and thought it was in the mid/high VF range from the photo. It was only at $20 when I saw it so I put my max bid in at $80, in case my photo estimate was wrong, and hoped for the best. I got it for $70 plus fees!

I decided to bid on it because the Charlton catalog had it as a change-over after the DF and that there was only 976,000 printed but I didn't know that it was a "super scarce design change-over from the DF series of prefixes seldom seen" thanks for that walk2dwater.
