i see this on ebay
https://www.ebay.com/itm/235591147612

but I'm wondering how do you know its a specimen dollar?

what specific things to look for compared to a pl dollar? (besides a mirror finish, which I can't really see in the photos anyway.

and finally, is there a specific box for the 1949 specimen dollar?

Adding pictures from this auction so that folks here can still learn once the ebay link stops working:

With the rim dings, it wouldn't get too much if it is not an SP.

Not a specimen..1949s came very well produced and can trick you at first glance, but when compared to a real specimen they don't hold up one bit. Take a look at the PCGS plate coins, the SP67+ and SP67 shown there are legitimate quality specimen strikes with incredibly high point details and much fuller rim strikes.

how about some specific things to look for with photos so people can not be fooled, since even professonals are getting fooled it seems.
