Hello all!

Very happy to show off my latest circ commemorative, this 1921 Alabama half dollar! An ebay pickup from last week, this was a great deal at $72.

It's just what I try to find for my circulated commemoratives... worn enough to have a patina and sense of history, but enough detail to appreciate the design! That said, if a PO-01 or FR-02 lowball appears, I certainly wouldn't turn it down.

What would you all think for the grade?

Even though I have no connection to the state of Alabama, this one may be a new favorite in the set.

And speaking of the set.... this is #13!

Lexington-Concord
Monroe
Stone Mountain
Oregon Trail
Illinois-Lincoln
Pilgrim
Columbian
Huguenot
Washington-Carver
US Sesqui
Antietam
Maryland

11 of the easier ones to find circulated, and then Antietam and Maryland as my forays into the tougher '30s.

Congrats on the pickup! Nice progress!

There are other CCF members who are far more adept at discussing the nuances of collecting circulated commemorative coins, so I'll leave it to them to offer useful insights!

I'll say G-06, but sorry, not a fan.

Nice looking example. I enjoy the circulation toned surfaces, shows originality which is often difficult to come by in these circulated examples.

You are making good incremental progress on the type set. Good for you - keep searching as patience and perseverance are the key to finding the tougher examples.

I could go with just making G06 - although several elements could support G04.

My example was likely a pocket piece as the surfaces are definitely brighter than yours. Compare the wear levels:

Well, congrats on your purchase of this commem. not one I would necessarily buy for myself (I'm partial to higher grades) but there are many ways to assemble a collection.
