1882-H 2 Over 1? F114 - Coin Community Forum

Djrev757 Valued Member United States 131 Posts	Posted 06/26/2024 2:59 pm Hello, recently started getting into UK/British coins and purchased this as a normal 1882-H but It looks 100% identical with the 2 over 1 sold in 2002 (1st pic is of the 2 over 1 that sold in 2002). It has the flat shield and connected R and I similar to the one sold as well. Let me know what you think. I only asked for the pic of the 2 before he sent so can't give any further pics till it gets here. Here is the official one (one of a few from what I can find) that matches mine. Obverse with the R & I connected Reverse with the flat shield (not sure if concave shield is a pair also?) The notch top right of 2 and (I think I see) the bottom leg of the 1 right above the 2s leg. PaddyB Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 945 Posts	Posted 06/26/2024 3:21 pm I am by no means an expert on these over-date varieties, but you look to be correct to me. It is F114 - the connected R and I is common to all 1882s (obverse 12), so no issue there. Reverse does appear to be M, confirming it as F114. As to the evidence of the underlying 1 - it does appear to be there, although even fainter than the quoted example. Well done! Report this Post to the Staff
