This is one of my favorite error coins. This two-cent piece shows a Retained Cud on the reverse along with a few other minor errors. It is listed on Cuds-on-Coins as RDC-2c-1865-04R. It would seem that this area of the die was susceptible to breakage as there are several Two Cent coins with Retained Cuds in about the same position.

The coin also shows slight areas of Grease Fill on the ribbon with IN GOD WE TRUST, the last S of STATES and on the last A of AMERICA. The last D in UNITED has a missing serif at the top.

At the end of the ribbons on the reverse and on the wheat stalks you can see many small die cracks, some of which reach the rim.

Nice Retained Cud.
I would say this is MS.
It has some bag marks that made me wonder, but the left leaf above the 2 on the reverse clearly shows the raised line that is the leaf vein.
I would think this vein would be one of the first things to show wear if the coin has circulated.
Thanks for the clear images.
