Simply incredible albums, bg! I continue to be blown away by your collection! I especially like the complete Barber dime album! I've been working on my set in Fine for over a decade. Quote: I noticed that Dansco made an error in assigning the number for the American Women album with proof coins. They used 8141 for this new series, which had already been assigned to a two-page album for quarters from 1992 onwards. Interesting, I've never heard of the original 8141 album. 1992 seems like such an arbitrary date to start a Washington quarter album.

Quote:1992 seems like such an arbitrary date to start a Washington quarter album. My assumption is that Dansco had an earlier version of album #8140 with 7 pages, accommodating coins up to 1991. Instead of continuously adding new pages to the current album, they might have decided to start a new album, #8141, beginning from 1992 to store coins for another 30-40 years, similar to how #8140 can hold over 50 years of coins. When they realized that the US Mint started Statehood Quarter series in 1999, they added an 8th page to #8140 to include coins up to 1998 and discontinued album #8141. Again, this is my assumption based on what I have seen in few albums I have and how US mint changed Washington quarter series in 1999. Here is the last page of one of the old 7 pages #8140 album -
