Sorry for my ignorance but how do you guys measure your coins? It would be a first. but it was a genuine seller so does it look like a raised rip type 2? I believe he said 1970's but that I don't remember well

we need more information here. is it a dollar size planchet? I don't see any copper core, so is it silver? if it is 'supposed' to be a silver Eisenhower dollar planchet, it is WAY under weight. (Even if it were a clad dollar planchet - it is still WAY under weight.) It sure cannot be a planchet for an ASE - they weigh 31.1 grams. Can you tell us what denomination it is supposed to be? (quarter, dollar, etc.) Does it stick to a magnet? measure across the widest point of it and let us know what that measurement (diameter) is.

38.1mm I put it next to a 1974 Eisenhower coin and it's the same diameter but maybe a bit thinner by a hair.. I re-weighed it and it does come up to 21.05gr

Still to light to be an Eisenhower planchet - the clad ones weigh 22.7 grams and will show a copper edge. yours doesn't. I do not know what this one was intended for. In addition that chamfered edge doe not look like it can from an upsetting mill.

I have a cheap ($10) digital caliper set. Easiest and most accurate method IMHO.

Here's the set of calipers I use for my coins. You can get them from Amazon, Home Depot, Lowes, Harbor Freight, Walmart, etc. for $10 - $35, I wouldn't think you would need to spend more than that, but they can get pricey. I got mine about 11 years ago for $30.

This is my caliper - an old school one (I actually have to read it to get measurements)

Being over 1.5 grams light raises red flags for it being a clad Eisenhower. Plus as stated no middle copper layer. Silver clad is even heavier.
