Well to put it plainly it's a waste of money you can get no premium out of basically any coin you are literally are just selling a raw coin, grade means nothing and I would highly recommend not getting any graded by them, maybe they are good on some things but no premium at all in there holder might as well not getting it graded would be worth the same. Now I will say if you need a coin authenticated then they would be fine to use for that aspect just not the grade.

I've had several coins 1951 Franklin half ms65 sold $23, 1954 s Franklin half ms66 sold $25 also have 1936 Mercury dime ms66 + fb for $30 not sold yet, it goes on and on, I enjoy the holder design but when I comes to values not a good investment.

I've bought many coins in ICG slabs from various auction sites. Not for the slab, but for the coin that happened to be in their slab. All were soon freed from their plastic prisons. ICG grades are generally vastly inflated and you should pay no attention to them.

"Buy the coin, not the slab".
In the long run, it pays to accurately grade for yourself.
That may take a long time, but it is well worth it.
A big bonus comes as your knowledge in your preferred speciality grows.

It then matters little what your preferred TPG may be.

For those who don't trust their own grading ability, and don't have enough time or inclination to learn,
perhaps paying extra for a professional opinion via the slab is safer.

ICG has several unique qualities

1. They will variety attribute just about anything that has a published source.
2. They are still using the same slab shell, so it all stacks
3. They are the only TPG that will encapsulate contemporary counterfeits, which provides significant protection to the coin.

4. As for grades, I think Skip and the team would argue that their grades are the more accurate and have been consistent for far longer than the other players.

@Matthew23.... My biggest gripe about ebay coin sellers, are their terrible pics. I would have purchased way more coins IF sellers could simply take decent pics. I looked at your listing for the Merc, the price is great but I'd pass on it because of the pic quality. Work on your photography skills & it may help improve your sales.

Maybe they have some good quality's but I'm staying far away as I can, I'm just wasting money basically and trying to break even, I was ok when I first starting to get stuff graded with them but after trying to sell a few it's definitely not worth it at all.

Also the problem with taking pictures of coins with phones it seems to never turn out right, I'm not paying a bunch of money for a professional camera to sell coins that are not worth much in the first place.

I understand your frustration regarding pics, but for example.... this is my coin, taken w/ a 5 year old 8 megapixel $40 LG cellphone.

OPINION: With ANY of the services, a debate might occur, for any number of reasons ... having these slabbed coins, gives one a place to start, when it comes to value. The more I know, the more I can discern which COIN to buy, not the holder that it sits.
