The Treasury has not placed an annual order for any coins with The Royal Mint and does not expect to order any new 1p and 2p coins to be minted in the coming years.

We don't know the 2023 mint figures yet.

In 2018 there were no 20 pence, 5 pence, 2 pence or 1 pence coins minted for circulation. No 2017 20 pence coins and no 2022 2 pence coins for circulation as well. We went from 2017 to 2020 without any £2 for circulation.

I have yet to see any of standard 2021 1 pence, 1 pound, and 2 pounds in circulation and none of the standard design 2020 coins as well.

Also have not seen new design 2023 50 pence coin in circulation.

While The Royal Mint seems to be making a bunch of non-circulating coins each year.
