Found these two in a tray that I bought from an old time dealer and I know nothing about UK error coins so I figured I would ask the forum! Thanks for the help ahead of time. Coin 1 Coin 2

I believe they are both "off-centre double struck".

@hord, best practice is to only create one thread per coin so I have merged your two threads together.

Yes, both double struck examples. They are interesting to GB collectors, but not to the same extent as some American collectors. Minting methods were not as sophisticated then as now, so many errors of various sorts occur. GB collectors would be more interested in die varieties. If/when you come to sell them, the US market is definitely where to pitch them as these are the sorts of coins that would have been in circulation there prior to Independence.

Thanks everybody. Very useful information. They will be for sale, just needed to do some research about them to help me figure out the best avenue to sell pieces like this.

Multi stuck or double Off centre strike is the official term for them very collectable and always make good return in auctions. Esp from this era.

Just wanted to add that as an American collector I would definitely be interested!
