Well, it's a little amorphous, but that's not unheard of for modern nickel DDRs. I would speculate that if you submitted it, that it would more likely than not be cataloged as a doubled die.
I agree that the shape strikes me more as a die dent. I don't think it's a die chip. Most die chips on modern nickels have a scalloped or ragged quality to them, and this feature has a soft, rounded shape. Also, I have looked at about 20000 nickels in the past 18 months, and I don't remember ever seeing a die chip in the triangle, or in the door for that matter. I'm not saying it can't happen, but the things that chip first seem to be the building walls (a.k.a. hornets nest or beehives), the left archway, the left side of the initials, the last O and M of Monticello, and the bottoms of FIVE CENTS.
