Right after I got back from upgrading a bunch of my notes at the annual BayState Coin Show last Friday, I realized there was one other note I had meant to bring, but forgot:

One-More-Post-Show-Upgrade-Series-1929-Five-Dollar-Federal-Reserve-Note---Boston

And so, I hopped onto ebay and quickly found a very nice example at an affordable price, which just arrived in the mail:

One-More-Post-Show-Upgrade-Series-1929-Five-Dollar-Federal-Reserve-Note---Boston

One-More-Post-Show-Upgrade-Series-1929-Five-Dollar-Federal-Reserve-Note---Boston

And for those of you who love seeing slabs:

I don't actually have many slabbed notes, but this one is the highest graded one of those I do have.

Nice example, probably from the second release of FRBNs during WWII. Many of these are very reasonably priced, even in 65 holders.

Yeah, had I known how reasonable these were, I would have held off buying that original note years ago. At the time, though, I was seeing if I could quickly assemble a mini set of 1929 Boston notes:

One-More-Post-Show-Upgrade-Series-1929-Five-Dollar-Federal-Reserve-Note---Boston
One-More-Post-Show-Upgrade-Series-1929-Five-Dollar-Federal-Reserve-Note---Boston

One-More-Post-Show-Upgrade-Series-1929-Five-Dollar-Federal-Reserve-Note---Boston
One-More-Post-Show-Upgrade-Series-1929-Five-Dollar-Federal-Reserve-Note---Boston

One-More-Post-Show-Upgrade-Series-1929-Five-Dollar-Federal-Reserve-Note---Boston
One-More-Post-Show-Upgrade-Series-1929-Five-Dollar-Federal-Reserve-Note---Boston

One-More-Post-Show-Upgrade-Series-1929-Five-Dollar-Federal-Reserve-Note---Boston
One-More-Post-Show-Upgrade-Series-1929-Five-Dollar-Federal-Reserve-Note---Boston

Maybe next year I'll see about upgrading the $10 and $20 so the entire set matches.

Thanks for sharing Barry.

We like seeing the graded notes in their holders because it helps new collectors get an idea what a particular note in a particular grade should look like.

It's like seeing a before and after picture of a note in circulation. Next year, a couple more before pictures
