2014 Lincoln Penny - Gas Bubbles? - Coin Community Forum

Newbie15 New Member United States 40 Posts	Posted 08/05/2024 2:03 pm I found this 2014 Penny. From what I can tell it is probably gas bubbles or slight delamination of the clad. It says high heat can do this do the coin is in very good shape to have been in high heat. Is this a mint error? Are they worth keeping? Thanks Report this Post to the Staff

If there is an error/problem to mention it would be poor choice of materials by The US Mint to create these new era cents (thin copper over zinc core), and the fact that nothing has been done nothing to correct the situation since 1982.
