1942-S/S Mercury Dime FS-502 Repunched Mint Mark / RPM -003

Brandmeister Pillar of the Community United States 6458 Posts	Posted 08/05/2024 9:48 pm I believe this is an example of 1942-S/S 10c FS-502 RPM-003. The coin is heavily circulated. Unfortunately, that includes a major scratch on the obverse. It is doubly unfortunate, as there are only three FS-502 certified by PCGS, and the coin is included in the extended Mercury dime registry set with all varieties. While it is certainly worth the five bucks that I paid for it, alas, a hard life has probably severely limited its value. Still cool to find, it was a fun hunt. In order to really get a good sense of how this RPM is suppose to look like, it would probably need to be in extra fine and above to see the detail.
