I took a look around, but didn't see a thread for this subject/theme. (Please forgive if I just overlooked one!)
This should be a rich area to explore as I can think of a number of pieces that fit the bill. Hopefully, the same is true for other CCF'ers around the world and we can create a strong and varied gallery!
Bring on the inventors!

I'll kick things off with a famous American inventor - Thomas Alva Edison. He earned over 1,000 US patents for his inventions during his career and is well-remembered for his contributions to the telegraph, telephone and phonograph technologies, not to mention a reliable, long-lasting incandescent light bulb (i.e., one that could be manufactured in bulk and operate consistently). Here's a 1947 medal commemorating the 100th Anniversary of his birth.

Would scientists and medical researchers fit with the topic?

Quote: Would scientists and medical researchers fit with the topic? If they invented something vs. discovered it they would. A "Post Your Scientist" thread could be interesting.

Is it okay to post items that have already appeared in a different thread or forum ? Don't want to ruffle any feathers. . .

Quote: Is it okay to post items that have already appeared in a different thread or forum ? Don't want to ruffle any feathers. . . Sure, happens all the time across this area's threads. It would be great, however, if you could just post one or two each day vs. a barrage. That's just a personal request, of course. I like to give as many folks as possible the opportunity to post a coin/medal/token vs. one member posting long runs at once and possibly preempting what another member was planning to post. Of course, I'm not part of the Post Police, so you're free to do as you see fit.
