This is the 3rd D mint I've found with DDR. All 3 are different. There's no 1999 D listed. Red and Yellow circles mark the area on the coin. There's actually a few more very faint doubling on the coins. Too many circles/arrows. WDDR. 1999P #'s 005,006 in same area.

Interesting! It looks like it could be a DDR or maybe Feeder Finger scrapes on the die, but I'm not sure.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

Any chance these could be die clash remnants as Tanman mentioned in this post? http://goccf.com/t/466702#4068919Or does that pertain only to the WDDR-001's? Edit: I think all of the CT WDDRs are being reevaluated, unless there's been an update.

could be a DDR here - but to spot these, you must have WAY too much time on your hands

Quote: I think all of the CT WDDRs are being reevaluated, unless there's been an update. I will have WDDR-002 through WDDR-006 in hand for reevaluation soon. Update will be made soon after if my suspicions are correct. I still strongly believe these are die clashes pending the examination in hand.

I'm thinking they could be clashes also. That's what I thought at first. I just got home. I guess I'll try some overlays. . I have some time on my hands.

What a mess!!! I'm sure Tanner will be able to get better overlays. This old iPhone can do just so much. It sure looks like it could be clashes.

I agree we need better overlays - and if possible close up overlays too. (has that ever been done yet?)

. I had a few minutes to spare so I checked all 3 coins for clashing on the obverse. The coins are in lousy shape. Hard to pick up much to go on. Couldn't find anything on the obverse One has this under the first N of CONNECTICUT. There's no other marks on it like this. I thought it might be from the wrapping machine. The mark doesn't resemble scratches it's just raised. That area would be approximately ( I think ) where that part of bust would/could strike? That's about it for now Anxious to hear what Tanner discovers. I'm thinking he was right.
