John Kraljevich on the latest "Coin Show Podcast" video talks about the coin and at 4:20 in says he expects the coin to bring $700K or up. (posted on their Facebook page). The record for any NE Silver piece is $646,000. My $5+ million bid guess may be a tad high.
I hope for Lars sake the price goes through the moon, but the interest is not as crazy as I thought it would be - even among the colonial collectors I know. We have lost a few colonial collectors that could afford to pay record-setting prices as well, that may factor in also.

I don't know anything about the market here. Realistically @westernsky is correct - if there's multiple big-pocket bidders interested in this historical type, it can get absolutely sky high, but if that doesn't happen it would probably end up pretty low (...still six figures which is a lot).
Looking forward to checking out the results - at which time is the bidding expected to start?

$2.1 mil w/o the juice. I didn't bid or win, but I'm still ok with my guess! Congrats to Larsjan!

Well shoot, I thought it would go much higher, I think it's a heck of a deal at $2.52 million. Lars is happy but I'm sure he would have liked that $10 million or $20 million bid. I still think it should be valued at around $5 million it's at least as important as any of the Brasher doubloons or the 1794 specimen dollar.
Not too bad for a random find in a box of old coins in England. Congrats to Larsjen and lets hope he finds somewhere safe to put that big check!
